Professional Experience

Artem Barsukov is a Swedish and Russian speaking lawyer who carries on a global arbitration practice out of Edmonton, leveraging a near-decade of experience in international dispute resolution.

Over the years, Artem has successfully represented clients all over the world in complex international and domestic arbitrations collectively worth over USD $2 Billion. He has acted as arbitration counsel under the leading international arbitration systems, including ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL, and appeared before multinational Arbitral Tribunals in Doha, Qatar; London, England; and Mexico City, Mexico; as well as virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. Having been involved in a number of matters from inception to conclusion, Artem has in-depth understanding of the arbitral procedure and how to conduct a fair and efficient dispute resolution process.

Artem has particular expertise in complex construction disputes, having acted for owners, authorities, contractors, and subcontractors in a wide variety of disputes arising from large-scale international construction projects in various locations around the world.

Prior to entering private practice, Artem worked at the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, where he learned the inner workings of judicial decision-making and how to craft well-supported and reasoned decisions directly from justices of the Court.
