Professional Experience

Laura is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and an Arbitration Place NexGen Arbitrator with particular expertise in the arbitration of complex domestic and international disputes. She was appointed in 2021 by the Government of British Columbia to serve a five-year term as a roster member for BC’s Bid Protest Mechanism and Dispute Resolution panels, which were established under the New West Partnership Trade Agreement and the Canadian Free Trade Agreement. Laura has extensive arbitration experience as counsel and has served as an independent neutral.

Professional and Other Activities

Laura is a director of the Canada Branch of the CIArb as well as the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre. She is an invited member of the Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society, a director of the board of CanArbWeek and a member of the ICC Canada Arbitration Committee. Laura is also a member of the Advocates’ Society’s British Columbia Regional Advisory Committee.

Laura volunteers her time with a number of charitable organizations and is a member of the Board of Directors of Ballet BC. She sat on the board of directors of Touchstone Theatre Society for several years, including as President of the board. She was also a member of Executive Leadership Team (BC – Yukon Region) for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of BC from 2019-2021.
